OWA RULES

Forum and Chat Conduct:
The Forum and the Chat Box are designed to have fun and enjoy the company of your fellow gamers, they are designed for the roleplays and questions and graphic sharing. There are a few rules that are needed to be placed. First of all Id like to keep the cussing down to a minimal, I know the tendency of excitement and typing you will occasionally just place a curse word out there. I don’t have a problem with that, constant cussing will be issued a warning, then removal from OWA. Keep Insults to your roleplaying, I don’t want to see players going off on each other cause one person thinks that they suck or cant win. Regardless if its true or not be civil, and the same can be made if you request criticism for your roleplays or character ideas, don’t be discouraged/insulted if someone just doesn’t like it. Go with what you like, not with what others like. After all its not what is going to win your matches.

OWA Matches:
With the conversion over to using Zeus Pro, we are trying to get away from adjusting the matches with too much editing. Zeus literally writes the entire match for us and has the ability to be adjusted to who wins or to let the program determine it based on stats and random chance. Most of the OWA matches will be revolving around this random chance factor, this means upholding a winning streak will be exceedingly more difficult than in the past OWA atmosphere. There might be a section in the match that doesn't make much sense keep in mind this is a program writing the matches on their own and even though the OWA staff will do their best to find and correct these errors with minimal editing they can still happen.

Matches were won in the past with the use of Strats, these are no more in the new system the strategy relies on the program and how you have advanced your character in compared to the next wrestler. Some things that will remain on an email notification will be Interference within a match. There are two types of interference, the ones that come down with the wrestler (aka valets/managers) and the ones that jump into a match half way through. unfortunately only one player can jump into a ongoing match it only allows for me to setup the interference of one additional person outside of valets. The way that they act and work are based upon their character creation just like the wrestler having the use of their moves in correspondence to where the match is at. That means that valets/managers will have to be created as well, unless they are another wrestler from the roster these characters do not improve over time. The only way to improve them would be from your own Experience Points and spending it towards your Valet instead. There may be special circumstance matches that pit two valets against each other which in that case will earn them some spend able points towards their own improvement. As you can tell having a valet or manager from the active roster will be slightly more difficult to maintain and is recommended for those advanced players used to the OWA System.

Experience Points:
In the Past OWA has used a system called Match Points, the Experience Points is taking place over this system. These will be listed on the roster and update as they are updated from the card results. They are earned for competing in matches throughout the week. As well as what's earned from role-playing your character on the forums. Rewards for this are subject to change as is the costs to improve upon characters. Currently we are looking at:

---Earning---
Winning a Match: 2pts
Loosing a Match: 1pts
Match Draw: 1pts
Roleplay: Varies 0-5pts (each/max 15 a week)

---Role-Playing---
Note: Role-Plays will be judged by the Staff, they should contain: Opening, Roleplay, Closing. Check out the Role-Playing section for more information on this. Points will be awarded after the cards and a maximum of 15pts is the cap earned from roleplays. We plan to keep no more than three roleplays a week, for any event or showing. To stay in the OWA you are required to roleplay once a week containing the minimal amount required for the roleplay. On another note, all information used in a roleplay is considered useable information for another to counter against. We ask and urge everyone to have their own originality in their roleplays copying another character's uniqueness could end up in consideration to your removal from OWA. Every real person is unique in real life and so in the game they should be as well. Similarities are fine.
Opening: Opening contains the introduction to your roleplay, in most cases you will be setting a scene and introducing in text the characters involved. Being that they are your character, interview character, stable mates, or possible staff involvement. This sets the scene for the readers to your roleplay, it is recommended to make this a paragraph in length, though some simple scenes do not require it.
Roleplay: This is the meat of your roleplays on the OWA forums, information regarding your character development, how they see the staff/OWA/wrestlers, storyline if they are involved in one, banter about your match, training for the match, or just playing out the scene you created. All of this works in Roleplay, only urge is if you use another’s character you are required to get permission from that character. If its found permission was not granted you could face removal from the OWA or a automatic loss for the match. Mockery is one thing to say what your perceiving vs showing a clip or background of what your seeing. Meaning you can say your opponent is sleeping in a pig pen but you cannot produce live content that would show the opponent out of their own character perspective. Fake video, pictures, ect are allowed, and most likely assumed when such cases are used if the opponents don’t confirm them. Most of all the Roleplay section is for fun, yes it’s good to counter your opponents but I urge you to come up with your own strategy to your roleplay and your own theme to work with. Do not wait on your opponents to post; within the OWA the first roleplay of a player must be posted by Monday, the cut off for roleplays will be Wednesday evening. This is all based on Mountain Standard Time, pending that’s where the forum is located. Sandbagging posting your roleplay at the last minute could cost your roleplay the experience points you would earn. So I urge everyone to get their roleplaying done in a timely fashion, its not required to roleplay more than once, and it doesn’t automatically assist you on winning your match, its designed to earn you experience to improving your character.
Closing: This is a form of signing off from the roleplay can be as simple as fading out from the scene, rolling to an OWA Commercial, fading to the OWA Logo. This is not required to be in depth and just is used to end the roleplay, so that staff and readers know when the roleplay is over.

How a Match is Won:
Lets go into detail on how exactly a player can win their OWA matches. As mentioned before the match judging will be done with a program called Zeus-Pro, its designed to calculate the percentages of Moves & Stats a character has based vs their Opponent. Generally a character more developed than their opponent will be the victor in the match. How this can change is among a few reasons, there is a percentage chance always of a failure (we will refer to this as a botch) meaning even a newbie has like a .01% chance at beating a fully experienced player. Other ways are by Staff decision if a player does not roleplay he is fired and will loose their match, we only require one roleplay a week to remain in the OWA. Storyline setup, as well can be done to force a decision this will usually regard the Staff discussing it the players, or a player choosing to loose their match to develop into a storyline/injury. The final way to tip the scales of a match is with Win Points, earned at the cost of 50 experience each they can be used as bidding to force a win. How this works is the player emails omniwrestling@vcn.com bidding X amount of their win points. Zeus will grant a win to the one that bid the most Win Points, in the case of a tie the match will go on as planned. No one other than staff will know you have bid Win Points to change the results of a match. Win Points will also not be recorded on the site, at least not on a viewable page for the players so no one will know if you have them. Its designed to store up points to face off winning or defending title matches. Due to their cost they are also designed for the advanced player.
